Joseph Heckle

Mr. Joseph "Doug" Heckle, age 89, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007. He was born on December 8, 1917 to Charles and Edna (O'Leary) Heckle in Pulaski, WI. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Mr. Heckle worked as a District Manager for Social Security Administration prior to his retirement in 1974. Mr. Heckle retired from the US Air Force in 1977 as a Lt. Colonel. On March 27, 1942 he married Nina Larson in Belleville, IL and she SURVIVES him along with 1 son, Paul (Carolyn) Heckle of Norton Shores; 2 grandchildren, Major Kevin (Amy) Heckle of Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama and Amy (Joe) Wenk of Kingsport, TN; 5 great-grandchildren, Chris and Jon Heckle and Jared, Wyatt, and Jenna Wenk; and 1 brother, Larry (Helen) Heckle of Beloit, WI. Mr. Heckle was preceded in death by 1 sister, Margaret. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11 AM Thursday at Central United Methodist Church with Chaplain Jan Johnson officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice or Central United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
