Mr. Joseph J. Ferencsik, age 88, passed away early Sunday morning, April 15, 2007 in Fremont following a long illness. He was born in Toledo, OH on June 24, 1919, the 3rd of 5 children to John and Helen (Olah) Ferencsik. The family moved to Muskegon when Joe was a child and here he met and married the former Norma Cook on January 3, 1945. Norma preceded him in death in 1977. Mr. Ferencsik was a former member of the Muskegon Hts. Eagles, the Muskegon Moose and the Mona Lake Boating Club. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W.II and was employed at Bennett Pump until retiring in 1973. SURVIVORS: Son, Jeffery J. (Cindy) Ferencsik of Norton Shores; 2 daughters, Joanne M. (Wayne) Witham and Janice L. (Hank) Waldo of Norton Shores; 2 brothers, John (Esther) Ferencsik and James Ferencsik of Muskegon; Sister, Betty Lee (Fred) Berger of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by: Sister, Margaret Schillaci Zachariason and a great-grandson, Mikey Stoker. FUNERAL SERVICE: will be held at the Lee Funeral Home, Tuesday, 11:00 A.M., April 17, 2007, Pastor Todd Bush presiding. INTERMENT: Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Alzheimers Association of Michigan. VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral service.
