Joseph G. Domanchuk, age 84, of Fruitport passed away Saturday May 17, 2008 at Harbor Hospice Poppen House in Muskegon. Joe was born May 7, 1924 in Fruitport Township to Joseph and Katherine (Bilansky) Domanchuk. On April 29, 1950 he married Vinci Fricano at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand Haven. Joe was a lifelong resident of Fruitport and owned and operated his own business for 34 years. Joe served his country in the Army Corp of Engineers during WW II in both the European and Pacific Theaters. Joe was an avid fan of baseball. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Joe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and is survived by his wife Vinci; two daughters: Diane Prisby of Hudsonville, Deborah (Steve) Ellis of Arizona; three sons: David (Cindy) Domanchuk of Grand Haven, Dan (Therese) Domanchuk of Muskegon, Dennis Domanchuk of Fruitport; grandchildren: Andrea and Allison Prisby, Marc and Eric Ellis, Kathryn Domanchuk, Jaime Mulford; a brother-in-law Joseph Mario (Brenn) Fricano of Muskegon and several nieces and a nephew. Joe was preceded in death by three sisters: Nadie King, Mary Kramer, Martha Hecksel and granddaughter Jaclyn Domanchuk. The Funeral Liturgy for Joe will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Leonard Sudlik as celebrant. Friends may meet the family Tuesday 3-6 p.m. at VanZantwick, Bartels, Kammeraad in Spring Lake and Wednesday one hour prior to the church service. Interment will be at Lake Forest cemetery. Memorials: St. Mary's Catholic School or Harbor Hospice.
