Jorge Mario Chacon

Jorge Mario Chacon Jr., 36, of Muskegon, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, unexpectedly at his home. He was born on July 10, 1989, in Chicago, Illinois, at Mercy Hospital to Jorge Mario Chacon Sr. and Mayra Concepcion Carranza-Solis.

Jorge was a man of many talents whose hands were described as magic. A talented and dedicated chef, he was the right-hand man to the owner of Casa Cabos, working at both the Apple Avenue location and the one inside the old Lumberman's bank building. He also served as a security guard at The Western downtown. Beyond his primary employment, Jorge was a barber, did construction, and "knew how to build everything," and was skilled at cutting trees.

A true enthusiast for life, Jorge was passionate about health, fitness, and helping others. He was dedicated to exercise, going to the gym, and healthy eating. His sudden passing was a great surprise to all who knew him as a fit and healthy man. His love for good food extended beyond his own kitchen; he was a big fan of Chinese food, especially egg fu young. Jorge loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, particularly salmon fishing, a passion he shared with his dad. One of the family's treasured photos is of him holding one of the biggest fish he ever caught. He also enjoyed fashion and liked to look good with nice clothes and a fresh haircut. His sister, Mayra, shared that his shoes were his life from the time they were kids, and that he took great care to keep them just right, especially his Jordans. In his downtime, he played video games like Call of Duty and helped the community with free haircuts and free cookouts. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and brought joy to everyone around him. He loved seeing people smile and never hesitated to help those in need. He was the kind of person who would take the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He greeted everyone with a warm smile, big hug, and a heart full of kindness. His generosity, compassion, and love for others touched so many lives and will never be forgotten. In honoring who he was, the family will dress him comfortably and bury him with his Jordans, exactly as he would have wanted.
