WIERSMA, MR. JOHN HOWARD Muskegon, MI Mr. John Howard Wiersma, age 84, died Monday, October 6, 2003. He was born in Muskegon, MI on October 11, 1918 to John & Ada Medema Wiersma. Mr. Wiersma served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Yeoman 2nd class serving in Okinawa & received the Bronze Star during WWII. Mr. Wiersma had been employed as a laborer at Teledyne Continental Motors for 30 years until retiring. He was a member of the V.F.W. of Kalamazoo & Battle Creek, Muskegon Eagles & was an avid baseball player in his youth. SURVIVORS 4 daughters, Karen Sam Waalkes of Seattle, WA, Darlene Jerry Hamstra of Fruitport, MI, Cheryl Phillip Colgan of Kennewick, WA & Mari-Lee Roger Mckee of Muskegon, MI; 12 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren.
