John Mastee

Mr. John F. Mastee, age 93, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011. He was born in Caspian, MI on July 18, 1917 to Jacob & Helen (Sohasky) Mastee and married the former Violet Powell on September 23, 1944. Mr. Mastee had been employed as an Inspector at Campbell Wyant & Cannon for 38 years until retiring in 1993. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a life member of the American Legion. John was an avid gardener who enjoyed fishing and the casinos. SURVIVORS Wife of 66 years, Violet; daughters, Nanette (Cliff) Fabian of Montague, Barbara (Martin) VanOveren of Grandville; grandsons, Jeff (Heather) VanOveren, Scott (Kelli) VanOveren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Walter Mastee of Muskegon; several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. SERVICE Thursday, July 21, 2011, 11:00 AM and visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Fr. Thomas Brown officiating. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIAL: Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
