John Maginity

Mr. John V. Maginity, age 94, passed away May 16, 2007 at his home. Mr. Maginity was born January 15, 1913 to Willard and Effie (Pearson) Maginity in Springdale, MI. On October 8, 1933 he married the former Ruth Long in Beulah, MI and she preceded him in death on March 9, 1988. Mr. Maginity was self employed as a well-driller and worked in the logging industry prior to his employment as a mechanic for CWC Foundry. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed traveling and going to flea markets. He is survived by his son, Willard (Rose) Maginity; 4 daughters, Kathryn (Gary) Rose, Virginia (Rodger) Bagnieschi, Mary Jones and Chris Gorkisch; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Jean Hardy; special friend and neighbor, Georgia Babcock. Mr. Maginity was also preceded in death by his parents and 2 sons-in-law, Gale Jones and John Gorkisch. An Open House Celebration of John's Life will be held June 3, 2007 from 11 AM to 3 PM at Morrows Restaurant Banquet Room, 7211 E. Apple, corner of Apple and Maple Island Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice or to the family.
