John Fredrick Kemp

KEMP, MR. JOHN F. Norton Shores Mr. John F. Kemp, age 83, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004. He was born in L'Anse, MI on September 19, 1920 to Frederick and Lena Miller Kemp and married the former Edith J. Rollenhagen in Muskegon on May 29, 1948. Mr. Kemp, as a Machinist's Mate First Class, served in the US Navy during WWII. He was in the South Pacific on three different ships, including the USS Bennett, USS Duncan and the USS Texas. Mr. Kemp worked as a Traffic Manager for Michigan Spring Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Calvary Church of Fruitport, the American Legion and VFW Post #446. SURVIVORS Wife, Edith; 1 son, Robert J. Michelle Kemp of Norton Shores; 1 daughter, Debra L. Kemp of Denver, CO; 3 grandchildren, Ethan, Jenna and Brennan Kemp all of Norton Shores; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Joyce Rotschy and Ruby Kanaar. SERVICE Saturday, May 22, 2004, 1:00 PM at the Clock Chapel in Muskegon with Rev. Terry Fulk officiating. Interment at Norton Cemetery. VISITATION Friday, 7-9 PM at the Clock Funeral Home in Muskegon. MEMORIAL: Hospice of Muskegon-Oceana or Calvary Church of Fruitport Building Fund. CLOCK - Muskegon
