John Gronevelt

Mr. John R. Gronevelt, age 89, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011. He was born in Grand Haven, MI on July 31, 1922 to John & Anna (Ruiter) Gronevelt and served his country in the US Army. John married the former Caroline Poel on April 25, 1946. Mr. Gronevelt had been employed as a mason contractor at Tri-City Construction until retiring. He was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church of Grand Haven. John enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing and wood working. SURVIVORS Wife of 65 years, Caroline; son, Glenn (Jan) Gronevelt; daughter, Karen (Paul) Jackson; daughter-in-law, Lynn (Paul Younggren) Gronevelt; grandchildren, Amy Varnado, Kim Ramos, Nicole Theune, Jeff Rodgers, Mark Gronevelt, Tadd Gronevelt; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Don (Lila) Gronevelt, Paul (Alyce) Gronevelt; sister, Kathleen (Marvin) VanderNoot; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James. SERVICE Saturday, December 3, 2011, 11:00 AM and visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel-Grand Haven with Rev. Michael Koetje officiating. MEMORIAL: Hospice of North Ottawa.
