John L. Borgman

Mr. John L. Borgman, age 71, passed away Monday, November 9, 2009. He was born in Fruitport, MI on March 29, 1938 to John & Helen (Kuzniar) Borgman. Mr. Borgman worked at Lakey Foundry & Automatic Spring Corp., before retiring from Michigan Spring in 1992. He was known for his skills as a mechanic, his good sense of humor, and the title as the "Walleye King". John enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, gardening, his manicured lawn, carrying on a family tradition of camping in the U.P. and was passionate about fishing. He married the former Shirley Kubicek on September 14, 1957. SURVIVORS Wife of 52 years, Shirley; son, John (Kelly) Borgman of North Muskegon; daughters, Deb (Tony) Nienhouse of Fruitport, Judi (Mike) Nelson of Fruitport, Becky (Bruce) Halverson of VA, Nancy (Scott) Knutson of Rockford; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; sister, Patricia (Marv) Weberg of Muskegon; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Brandon; brothers, Ron & Bob Borgman. SERVICE Thursday, November 12, 2009, 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Olson officiating. Interment at Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: St. Thomas Catholic Church or Johnson Cancer Center of Muskegon.
