In John 14:6 Jesus tells us "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life". Joel M. VanderWall was a loving family-focused man who enjoyed sailing the waters of Lake Michigan. He valued serving others through local missions, counseling and mentoring many. Following a brief illness, Jesus welcomed Joel home on Friday, October 6, 2017. Mr. VanderWall's family would like to thank the caring staff at Mercy Health Hospital of Muskegon. SURVIVORS Joel will be dearly missed by his wife, Kay (Abbott) VanderWall; his children, Jay (Carolyn) VanderWall, Jody (VanderWall) Hanson, Jill (Lane) White; grandchildren, Bryan, Jackie, Eric, Jonathan, Logan, Kelsey, Kendyl, Connor, Kayla, Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Parker, Katherine, Cameron, Sophia, Jace, Travis, Patrick, Ikaia; brothers, Marvin (Carol), Gordon, and in laws, John (Sharon) Abbott, Joyce VanderWall. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Jr., Bernard, Winston; sisters-in-law, Cheryl and Carole. SERVICE Tuesday, October 10, 2017, 12:00 pm at Forest Park Covenant Church. VISITATION Tuesday, October 10, 2017, 10:30 am to 11:45 am prior to the service at Forest Park Covenant Church.
