Mr. Adolph J. "Joe" Rumiez, age 89, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013. He was born in South Haven, MI on September 6, 1923 to Joseph & Catherine (Wajda) Rumiez and served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He married the former Betty Jean Kicas on April 9, 1962 and was a graduate of Wayne State as a Pharmacist. He worked for Pfizer Pharmaceutical until 1962, when he purchased Town & Country Pharmacy. Joe served the community for 26 years making home deliveries and presiding over the "Coffee Bar". He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed gardening and discussing politics. But foremost was always his family. SURVIVORS Daughters, Peggy Rumiez Barber of N. Muskegon, Dede "Christina" Rumiez of NY; close nephew, Joe (Carol) Richmond of N. Muskegon; nephew, David (Chris) Rumiez of FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean and brother, Anthony. SERVICE Monday, August 26, 2013, 3:00 PM at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Dennis Henderson officiating. Interment at Laketon Township Cemetery. VISITATION Monday, 1-3 PM at Clock Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve.
