LAW, MRS. JOANNE Muskegon, MI Early Sunday, May 24, 2009, God came and wrapped His arms around JoAnne and took her home with him. JoAnne Erickson was born in Marquette, Michigan June 6, 1944 to Russell A. and Joan L. (Paull) Erickson. From Marquette, JoAnne's family moved to many cities in Michigan before finally settling in Muskegon. In February of 1963 JoAnne's path crossed that of George R. Law; they fell in love and were married August 14, 1965. Both JoAnne and George went on to become public school educators, she with Muskegon Public Schools and he with Grand Haven Public Schools. During that time JoAnne and George raised two lovely daughters, Anne Marie and Julie Lynn. SURVIVORS JoAnne is survived by her husband George; daughters, Ann Marie (Dan) Patterson and Julie Lynn (Todd) Benedict; grandsons, Alexander Law Benedict and James Walker Law Patterson; granddaughters, Addison Grace Benedict and Sarah Evelyn Law Patterson; brothers, Robert Allen (Patrice) Erickson and Paul Russell (Ann Marie) Erickson, and cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by the foreign exchange students whose lives she touched: Steven Timmermans (Belgium), Are Fagerhaug (Norway), Karl Moen (Norway) and Elena Vodyanova (Russia). JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barbara Jean Dykema. As per JoAnne and George's plan, cremation has taken place and George will join her one day. VISITATION Visitation will be held Saturday May 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Fruitport Congregational United Church of Christ, 8th Ave. and Park St., Fruitport, Michigan. SERVICE A service for JoAnne will be held at 12 p.m. celebrating her life and a luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, JoAnne has asked that friends please consider a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Fruitport Congregational United Church of Christ, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church or Muskegon Harbor Hospice.
