Depth over Distance Let us tell you about our best friend.. You cannot know anyone unless you know them from the beginning. Jeremy. Jer. JT My heart. The Tejchmas. Without a doubt the Tejchmas are a clan of the most amazing individuals you may ever meet. Each and every one of them bring something to make this family a perfect compilation of what a family is. This, however, is about Jeremy. Dan and Mary, otherwise known as DAN! Bird, Money and Mother Mary. Two of the hardest working most selfless parents I have ever known. Their lives are lived for their boys. Jason: A masterpiece of a son according to Jeremy. Jason was his big brother. He aspired to be half of the man Jason has become. Jasons wife Shannon was the woman after every Tejchma mans heart. You have big shoes to fill he once told me. I have always had a crush on her. Thanks Jer, just how I want to start. Jason and Jeremy were the best of friends and the best and worst of brothers. The competition, constant competition. And then there was Jordan. The Golden Child. No man has a more sincere personality then his baby brother. Jordan has a way with people. He would say this about Jeremy but Jeremy knew his ability to connect with every passerby was because of his brother. The eye contact never strayed when talking to Jordan. How could you not love such a person Jeremy would tell me while watching him. I hope I have given everyone the same attention He would say while watching his brother in utter awe. Then came Jackson, he is so proud to be your uncle. Something you may not know about our Jeremy.. Oh the sense of humor he had. The electric blue eyed, respectecful, shy, little Jeremy we all love so. Did he have a quick tongue. With a whisper and a smirk hed walk away with the show stealer. There was no topping Jeremys one liners. He made it a point to stay far from the limelight yet always departed with an impression. I am pretty positive he came into this world with a mean wrap around (for you hockey fans), dead aim with a baseball, and wanderlust in his being. Jeremy hit the ground running. The beautiful bleach blonde would be out from sun up til the last breath of daylight. Dirty from head to toe, he came home a happy boy. Of course a mother would always worry about a full belly but him and his brothers had full hearts. Eventually the skinned knee JT would join the rest of Roosevelt Parks finest at Campbell Elementary. Another baby blue eyed boy and freckle faced young man would soon become his world. Eric and Mike, if you know these fine young men then you know Jeremy from the beginning. Those boys thought they were something. The toughest WWF, bike riding, hockey players to run this town since their parents before them. Through all of this there were countless wheelie contest, Jeremy against Matt Morton. And of course speed was tested against the infamous Kevin Fulgham. Like everyones first years they fly by with a blink. Ending with Mr. Meston and Mr. White. Mr. White. I owe you a huge hug. Nothing more needs to be said. Down the line a few snowballs and older crushes bring us to the men Jeremy would be amongst until this day. Eddie, Jeff, Jay, Beano, Reidy, Aaron, Krazy Karl, Justin, Kuznar, what else can we say.. There is not enough time to fill the frame each of you deserve. You see, these men, these men are who he laughed with, got in trouble with and most importantly, confided in. Hockey was Jeremys calling. It was his life as a young man. Side by side with Eric, Abs, and Reidy he played the sport as if his life depended on it. This led him away from home to a host of wonderful people who loved him as their own. Deb especially, she traveled near and far to see her Jeremy play. He lived and breathed this sport. He could skate before he could run. And Oh those bow legs, how we know them from a mile away. I love those legs. You wear them well my dear. But that is not the point. He was an amazing athlete. His family devoted their lives to their son(s). No distance was too far to travel. . His friends did the same. From playing together to screaming JT MONEY (thank you AOL messenger) in the stands at Wayne State. He had so many fans. His first game led him to the Alaska. The mountains were life changing for him. In hindsight in may be ironic. The Last Frontier, like all good things they come to an end. Hockey defined him for a while but it was NOT him. Here is who Jeremy was: Jeremy was a deep thinker. He is his respect for a clean beach, a rooted tree, a kaleidoscope of colors on a crisp fall day. He is the conscience in each of his friends. The blood and good tears of his family who shaped him. The bones and soul of a woman who loves him with everything in her. Mostly, he is the please and thank you;s of a 3 year old whos smile will carry on JTs legacy. Jeremy was his heart and his heart is with each and every person to have been graced by his presence. We love you so much Jer. Yours always, ValPal and Friends. Mr. Jeremy D. Tejchma, age 28, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014.
