Jeanne R. Clausen

Mrs. Jeanne R. Clausen, age 65, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 5, 2008 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. She was born March 11, 1943 in Detroit, MI to Eduard and Ernestine (Gerstenschlager) Rehn, and resided in the Muskegon area since 1970. Mrs. Clausen earned her Bachelor's Degree in Teaching Education from Michigan State University, and taught for 35 years, the majority at Marquette Elementary School before retiring in 2000. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she worked with their Youth Group. Mrs. Clausen also enjoyed working with the Girl Scouts as an assistant leader. She loved reading, traveling and spending time with her family. On June 7, 1975 she married Al Clausen in Muskegon and he survives her along with 2 daughters, Karen Clausen of Scotts, MI, and Katie Clausen of Holland, MI; sister, Linda Rehn of Manistee, MI; brother, Lynn (Helen) Rehn of LaGrange, IL; and 4 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES will be 1 PM Friday at Central United Methodist Church (1011 Second St.) with Rev. Dr. Randall R. Hansen officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 12-2 & 4-6 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S.
