Jeanette Dorothy Groeneveld, age 88 passed away Sunday Evening, November 4, 2007, at a local hospital. She was born December 6, 1918 in Muskegon to Edward and Kate (Van Dinen) Kalk. She was a lifelong resident of Muskegon, graduating from Muskegon High School. Jeanette married Richard Groeneveld in Muskegon on August 23, 1945. She had worked for Meyering State Farm Insurance and later as a stenographer and receptionist at the George Morrell Corporation until her retirement in 1984. Jeanette was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church where she was active in the Friendship Circle and the Sprint Group. She was also secretary for the Muskegon Area Bible League. Jeanette is SURVIVED by her husband of more than 62 years, Richard Groeneveld; her children, Diane R. (James) Hall of Gulf Breeze , FL, and Debra K. (Scott) Tilton of N. Muskegon; daughter-in-law, Karyl Groeneveld of Olympia, WA; grandchildren, Elliot (Yvonna) Groeneveld of Keizer, OR and Katie Groeneveld of Olympia, WA; sisters-in-law, Edith Groeneveld of Grand Rapids, and Alice VanderVeen of Jackson, MI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas P. Groeneveld; and her sister, Dorothy Molewyk. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Calvin Christian Reformed Church with her pastor, Rev. John Rop officiating. VISITATION will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave 231-726-5210 Interment will be made in Mona View Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Calvin Christian Reformed Church Building Fund.
