Jean Marie Mahoney passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born in Muskegon, MI on March 7, 1944 to Frank & Germain (Rybecki) Kovalcik. Jean married Gerald Mahoney on August 31, 1968. She had been employed as the Lingerie Department Manager for Steketee's for over 25 years where she was well known and admired until retiring when the store closed.

Jean enjoyed cooking and shopping, morel hunting, going to the casino's (especially Little River), game shows, "I Love Lucy", and taking rides up North and around Lake Michigan. Throughout her life, Jean became very devoted to cats, particularly those without homes, and she was active as a rescue volunteer and animal caregiver. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren always making sure her snack drawer and candy jars were filled. Jean was more than happy to be the central figure in their lives and a beloved member of her community. Despite any health struggles, she always provided a loving and warm home for visitors.

Jean's family grieves her loss, but they take comfort in knowing that she is at peace and reunited with her loved ones on the other side.

She will be lovingly remembered by her SURVIVORS:
