Janice Ann Hermanson, age 86, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023. She was born in Muskegon, MI on October 4, 1936 to Harvey & Dorothy (Leenstra) Hermanson. Jan graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School and attended Muskegon Community College and Grand Valley State University. Upon graduating, she began her career working as a medical technologist at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. After roughly 20 years at Hackely, Jan relocated and began working at the Grand Valley Blood bank in Grand Rapids, MI where she retired from in 1998. Jan attended Westend and Gold Avenue Christian Reformed Churches and enjoyed golf, photography and volunteering. She also loved writing letters and sending cards. She used her lettering writing talent to mentor and encourage men and women in prison through Crossroads Prison Ministries correspondence mentoring program.

SURVIVORS

Jan is survived by her brothers John (Barbara) Hermanson; George (Patricia) Hermanson. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Karen.

MEMORIAL SERVICE

Join us for a memorial service on Friday, November 17 at Edison Christian Living located at 930 Parkhurst Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI (Lower Level Independent Living Building). Family visitation will start at 10:30am followed by a memorial service at 11:00am. Light refreshments and appetizers will follow.
