BALDUS, MRS. JANICE M. Grand Haven Janice M. Baldus, 83, of Grand Haven, died Oct. 10, 2004. She was born Mar. 5, 1921 in Grand Haven to Percy and Hattie Tatroe. Mrs. Baldus had been employed at North Ottawa Community Hospital for 20 years and retired in 1982. She then worked for Whims and Wishes in downtown Grand Haven for 16 years and finally retired permanently in 1998. She was on the consistory of the Second Reformed Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent. She was also a member of the Bible League, an avid supporter of the Grand Haven Salvation Army, a volunteer for International Aid and the Red Cross Blood Bank. Mrs. Baldus was a member of the Tri-Cities Business and Professional Woman. She partidipated in the Senior Bowling League and played softball on the Grand Haven Hospital Team. She loved to travel, but enjoyed spending "playtime" with her grandchildren the most. God blessed al those whose lives she touched. SURVIVORS Son, John Marianne Baldus of Grand Haven, two daughters, Letty Baldus of Grand Haven and Wendy Steve Jobin of Spring Lake; 6 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; sister, Doris D'Oyly also of Grand Haven, 2 very special nieces, Doris Kay VanderWiede and Pat Chuck Slocum both of Martin, MI and many more nieces and nephews. Mrs. Baldus was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Curtis in 2000. SERVICE Wednesday, October 13, 2004, 11:00 AM at Second Reformed Church with officiating. Interment at Lakeshore Cemetery. VISITATION Wednesday, 10 A M at the church. MEMORIAL: In leiu of flowers please consider The Salvation Army Building Fund or the Bible League of the Second Reformed Church.
