Isaiah 46:4 Mrs. Janet Doctor, age 93, died peacefully on December 23, 2007. Janet was born July 4, 1914, in Ellsworth, MI, to William and Katie (Tanis) Kooyer. She had been a resident of the Muskegon area for much of her life. Janet married Richard Doctor in Detroit in 1936, and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1992. She was a long-time member of Olivet Evangelical Free Church. Mrs. Doctor headed the lunch program for the Fruitport School District for 25 years. After her retirement, Janet and her husband served for seven years in the start-up of Spring Hill Camps. She lived 17 more years in Ellsworth and an additional 12 years in Muskegon. Throughout her life, she was known for her servant's heart. Janet is survived by her children Janice (Larry) Dobb, Gerald (Judith) Doctor, Virginia (David) Blackwell-Roe, Stanley Doctor, and Richard (Paula) Doctor, as well as 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son David Eugene Doctor in 1945, grandson David Kenneth Doctor in 1979, and three Kooyer brothers. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2007, at Olivet Evangelical Free Church (1050 W. Southern Ave., Muskegon) with the Rev. Enoch Olson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 Interment will be in Mona View Cemetery in Muskegon. Memorial contributions may be made to Olivet Evangelical Free Church or the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
