Jane Louise Hughes

Mrs. Jane Louise (Hunter) Hughes, age 90, died Friday, August 1, 2008. She was born on October 29, 1917 to Alfred & Dorothea (Schroeder) Hunter. Jane was graduated from National Cathedral School and Northwestern University. She married Malcolm Hughes on September 26, 1942. She was an officer of Hunter-Hughes, Inc., which she and her husband owned for many years. Jane was proud to be a wife, mother, grandmother and especially a great grandmother to Nash, who was the apple of her eye. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, PEO, and volunteered in the community for many years. Jane enjoyed her family, her good friendships, reading, knitting, gardening, and had a great appreciation for nature, and the wildlife on Mona Lake. Sometimes she was the wildlife when she enjoyed her martinis', cigarettes, and good friends. SURVIVORS 3 children, James (Joann) Hughes of Muskegon, Thea (Charlie) McMullen of Muskegon & Paul (Dina) Hughes of West Bloomfield; Grandchildren, Marcus, Nick (Lindsey) Grinwis; great grandson, Nash Grinwis; nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren Todd, Kateri and Susan McMullen, step-great grandchildren Noah, Karianne, Ryan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister. SERVICE A private family service will be held at a later date. MEMORIAL: Child Abuse Council of Muskegon.
