James Allen Vosecek, known fondly as Jim and Vose, passed away peacefully at his home in Muskegon on January 1, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on July 11, 1950, in Evergreen Park, IL, to Gerald "Jerry" and Marie (Lewis) Vosecek, Jim made a memorable mark on the music scene throughout his life.
Jim's journey began at J Sterling Morton West High School in Berwyn, Illinois, followed by a few years at Northern Illinois University. His vibrant career spanned various roles in the music industry. He kicked things off as a roadie and sound engineer with The Ides of March from 1970 to 1972, hitting the road with the band and soaking in the music business experience. Jim then ventured into talent management at Beacon Artist Corp before joining Styx from 1974 to 1980, where he truly found his groove as a booking agent, tour manager, and sound engineer.
In 1980, Jim took his passion for production to the next level by working for Tour De Force Productions, offering staging for major rock acts and lending his graphic design skills to many projects. Later, he became the owner of "A Local Guy," providing everything from graphic design to roofing and home repairs, earning a reputation as the go-to guy in West Michigan.
Describing his life, Jim once remarked, "I have led a charmed or maybe blessed life. I have never had to work for or answer to anyone but myself." He faced life's ups and downs with a unique perspective, often reflecting, "Don't worry about nothin' because nothin' will be alright!"
Jim is survived by his sister, Judy Zerial, his nephew, Peter Zerial, and his two "boys" JD and his dog Charlie who have been his constant support group for years.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date. Everyone is welcome to visit www.clockfuneralhome.com to leave memories or sign the online guestbook.
As we remember Jim, let's cherish the laughter, music, and warmth he brought into our lives. He will be missed yet fondly remembered by all who knew him.
