James Stanhope

Mr. James Hugh Stanhope, age 79, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 16, 1937 to Hugh & Mary Georgina Stanhope and spent most of his youth in Boyne Falls MI. He married Carol V. Forbes on July 15, 1957 and she survives him. Jim worked for Dupont in process & engineering for 15 years before founding and incorporating Standard Design LTD, a design firm, and Tectonics Inc., an engineering and construction management firm. Upon retiring, Jim's hobbies included stained glass, wood carving, religious and philosophy reading. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved wildlife. Philippians 4:6-8. SURVIVORS He will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol; his two sons, Troy (Diane) Stanhope of The Villages FL, Guy (Kim) Stanhope of Twin Lake MI; grandchildren, Shae and Guy James; great grandchildren, Jason, Jada, Jylee, Javon, Jaden & Nevaeh; brother, George Stanhope of Grand Rapids MI; sister, Twila (Dave) Cole of Twin Lake MI; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandchildren, Kris Stanhope and Ceri Stanhope. SERVICE At Jim's request, there will be no services. He asks just that you remember him as you knew him.
