Rutz, Mr. James Henry Muskegon On Saturday, September 18, 2021, James (Jim) Henry Rutz, loving husband, father, brother, mentor, and friend to all, passed away at the age of 61. He was born in Muskegon, MI on September 12, 1960, to Stanley James & Altha Fern (Pritchard) Rutz and lived most of his life in his hometown. He was proud to have been a "Big Red" and graduate of Muskegon High School. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan before heading to the University of Texas to pursue his Master's degree. He was able to explore, travel, live and form lasting relationships in other states before returning to Muskegon where he met and married the former Renee Kenney on October 12, 1996. Together they have two children, Danica James, and Dane Thomas. Jim found meaning and fulfillment in his family, personal relationships, and the beauty of nature. He was an avid reader, a wordsmith, and a writer in his spare time. He took much joy in volunteering for his children's school events and coaching both soccer and football.
