James Mattson

Mr. James C. Mattson, age 64, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010. He was born in Muskegon, MI on August 19, 1946 to Carl "Bob" & Viola (Elwell) Mattson and graduated from North Muskegon HS and Western Michigan University. He married the former Suzanne Hughes and had been employed as a Sr. Engineer at Verizon for 30 years, retiring in 2001. Prior to that he taught at Spring Lake High School. Mr. Mattson was an avid fisherman & hunter. He enjoyed the outdoors and all sports but foremost was always his family. SURVIVORS Wife, Suzanne; son, Bradley Mattson of MN; mother, Viola Mattson of N. Muskegon; brothers, Jerry (Julie) Mattson, John (Christie) Mattson both of N. Muskegon; several nieces & nephews; and his dog "Dusty". He was preceded in death by his father and his sister-in-law, Judy Mattson. SERVICE A Private Graveside Service will take place. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice Poppen House.
