Mr. James Douglas Kienke, age 71, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018. He was born in Muskegon, MI on May 24, 1947 to Douglas & Ethel (Long) Kienke. He married the former Janet Hughes on June 26, 1971. Jim had been employed as an Inventory Controller for 29 years at Master Tag. Jim attended St. James Lutheran, was a volunteer umpire for Roosevelt Park Girls softball, enjoyed gardening, going for walks and most of all, he loved his family. SURVIVORS Wife, Janet; daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Hekkema of North Muskegon; sons, Jason (Emily) Kienke of Spring Lake, Joseph (Emily) Kienke of Florida; grandchildren, Henrik Kienke, Carter Hekkema, Madison Hekkema; sisters, Marlene Smith of Whitehall, Cheryl (Steve) Mairs of Whitehall; brother-in-law, Richard (Holly) Hughes; many nieces, nephews & wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by sister, Janice Austin. SERVICE Monday, November 12, 2018, 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. James Lutheran Church of Montague, with Rev. John Brooks officiating. Internment in Oakgrove Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice Foundation, St. James Lutheran Church, Child Abuse Council.
