James Franklin Kent

Mr. James Franklin Kent, age 91, passed away July 6, 2008 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. Mr. Kent was born May 1, 1917 to James P. and Mary (Robarge) Kent in Muskegon and was a life resident of the area. On October 19, 1942 he married the former Dorothea M. Morris in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on January 10, 2007. He served in the US Air Force during WWII and Vietnam. Mr. Kent was employed by Teledyne Continental Motors for 42 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He loved his family and enjoyed taking his grandchildren on trips and special outings. Mr. Kent will be missed by his 2 grandchildren, Michael Harker and Michelle (John) Peliotes both of Muskegon; 2 great-grandchildren, Anna Holstine and Jordan Peliotes, 1 niece, Sandy (Ron) Sharpe of Grand Rapids. He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter Phyllis Ann; 1 brother and 1 sister. FUNERAL SERVICE will take place 11 AM Thursday, July 10, 2008 at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231 759-8565 with Pastor Stephen Rumley officiating. VISITATION will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Harbor Hospice.
