James Kendra

Mr. James Kenneth Kendra, age 57, died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. He was born in Muskegon, MI on May 16, 1952 to Stanley & Betty (Stidham) Kendra and married the former Kathy Blackmer on October 21, 1972. Mr. Kendra had been employed as a Heating & Cooling Technician for 20 years. He attended Norton Shores Gospel Tabernacle and loved deer hunting, golfing and fishing. He loved his family dearly, and his grandchildren were the loves of his life. SURVIVORS Wife of 37 years, Kathy of Fruitport; sons, James (Dawn) Kendra II of GA, Jeremy (Amanda) Kendra of Fruitport, John (Lisa) Kendra of Fruitport; grandchildren, James III, Alex, Wyatt, Kayne, Kurt, Kyle, Kara, Dylan, Kylie; father, Stanley of Fruitport; brothers, Robert Kendra of FL, Ronald Kendra of Fruitport; sister, Judy (Erie) Toney of Hesperia; 3 brothers-in-law and their wives; mother-in-law, Dolores Blackmer of Grand Haven; several nieces & nephews, very special friend, Deborah Cook; Brutus, the family pet.. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; sister-in-law, Sandra Lewallen & father-in-law Burton Blackmer. SERVICE Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 11:00 AM at Norton Shores Gospel Tabernacle with Pastor Kevin McCormick officiating. Interment at Fruitport Cemetery. VISITATION Monday, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon and Tuesday, 1 hour prior to the service.
