James Kavanagh

Mr. James E. Kavanagh, age 76, died Monday, June 18, 2007. He was born in Bay City, MI on April 7, 1931 to James & Leola (Cliff) Kavanagh & married the former Janice I. Mish Kanaar on April 11, 1970 in North Muskegon. Mr. Kavanagh served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had previously been employed as a district manager for The Bay City Times & later as a circulation director at The Muskegon Chronicle until retiring in 1994. He was an active member of St. Mary of The Woods Catholic Church & Holton American Legion Post #397. James was a good Irishman with a great sense of humor. SURVIVORS Wife, Janice of Twin Lake; 2 daughters, Teri Ann (Lyle) Biniecki of Midland, MI & Colleen (George) Carty of Saginaw, MI; 1 son, James P. (Cheryl) Kavanagh of Holland, MI; 1 stepson, Steven (Deb) Kanaar of Grand Haven, MI; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents & by 2 sisters, Ellen Deming & Kathleen Bjorkquist. SERVICE Friday, June 22, 2007, 10:30 AM at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Hart officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. VISITATION Thursday, 24 & 68 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home. MEMORIAL: St. Mary of The Woods Catholic Church, Harbor Hospice Poppen House & American Cancer Society.
