James R. Holmblade

Mr. James R. Holmblade, age 82, of Whitehall, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. He was born August 4, 1925 in Fruitland Township to the late Nils A. and Synneva (Weeks) Holmblade. He served our country during WWII as a military bandsman during the European African Middle Eastern Theater and had worked at Howmet Division of Alcoa before retiring. James is survived by his sister, Amy Jean (Philip) Knorr; one brother, John (Lila) Holmblade; nephews and one niece; and close friend and caretaker, Diana Jupa. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Memorials may be directed to White Lake Library, Blue Lakes Fine Art Camp, White Lake Elks, or N.O.A.H. Project.
