Jacquelyn "Jackie" Ann (Sorensen) Booher, 79, of Hesperia, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 9, 2026, surrounded by family after a long battle with heart disease. Born January 21, 1947, in Fremont, Michigan, to Christian "Chris" and Mildred "Millie" (Heinbaugh) Sorensen, Jackie spent her childhood in Seward, Alaska, before returning to Michigan for schooling after the 1964 Alaskan earthquake destroyed Seward High School. She finished her senior year and graduated from Hesperia High School in 1965. Jackie married William "Bill" Booher on November 27, 1965, at the Hesperia Methodist Church and built a life centered on family and community. Bill preceded her in death in 2019.
Jackie worked for many years at Howmet Aerospace as a Quality Control Inspector before retiring early. She was known for her careful work, strong family ties, and creativity. A talented crocheter and knitter, Jackie lovingly made blankets, sweaters, and baby gifts for family and friends. She also had a passion for genealogy and was active with the Holton Genealogical Society, researching her family's Danish roots.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Richard) Wallace of Midland, Michigan: son, Christian "Chris" Booher of Hesperia; and bonus daughter, Alexandria Tomaras; sisters Dona (Tom) Walker of Seward, Alaska, Darlene (John) Crawford of Seldovia, Alaska; and sister-in-law Linda (Mike) Booher of Hesperia. Grandchildren include; Kameron Wallace, of Flint, Michigan, Hillary (Bill) Laur, and Gabriella "Gabbi" (Dan) Hall of Midland, Michigan, Teisha Wallace of Columbus, Ohio, Kali Wallace, and Breanna "Sarah" Wallace of Midland, Michigan, Aurora, Emelia and Christian Booher of Hesperia, and bonus grandaughters Alivia and Catlynn Tomaras also of Hesperia; great gandchildren are Jackson "Jack" Kapanka, Kyro Hyman, Madilyn "Madi" Laur, Joseph "JD" Hall; Jackie is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Booher; son, Paul Booher; parents, Christian "Chris" and Mildred "Millie" Sorenson of Seward, Alaska; brothers, Christian "Chris" Sorenson of Anchorage, Alaska and Dale Sorenson of Meza, Arizona.
A Celebration of Life will held at a later date in June. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Holton Genealogical Society, the American Legion in Hesperia, White Cloud Animal Shelter or Heartland Hospice. Online condolences may be left at www.clockfuneralhome.com
