A memorial service for Jack Klimp, who died Tuesday, February 19, 2008, will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection this Friday the 22nd at 3pm. The family will receive friends following the service in the Parish Hall. Mr. Klimp was preceded in death by his parents Norma Sims and Albert Klimp. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Margaret Pedler Klimp; sister Katherine Klimp Muskovin; daughter Deborah Collins (Terry); sons Dana Klimp (Lori) and John Klimp (Hilary); 3 grand-daughters and 4 grand-sons. Jack was born in raised in Michigan and spent the last 24 years in Gadsden, AL. He served as a rigger in the U.S. Army occupying Japan following World War II. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Business Administration. He was employed by the Campbell Wyant and Cannon in Muskegon, Michigan, a division of Textron Industries for 25 years in a variety of positions, completing his tenure as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Jack left C.W.C to start his own foundry in 1977 and was subsequently involved in national and international sales representing several firms before retiring in 1992 from Attalla Castings. He lived a very full and happy life and was an avid skier, golfer, and fisherman and amateur wood worker. Jack was a long time active member of the Episcopal church where he was a friend to all. The family wishes to thank the physicians and healthcare professionals caring for Jack during his final weeks and days. Very special thanks to Jack's friends and care givers Dr. James Wallace and Dr. Bruce Head. The family also thanks the many, many friends of Jack and Peggy for their love and support. Jack was truly blessed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Building Fund of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection or the charity of your choice.
