Mr. Jack H. Hoebeke, age 84, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012. He was born in Grand Haven, MI on October 6, 1927 to Henry & Roelvina (Hoffman) Hoebeke. Jack attended Grand Haven Christian School thru the 9th grade and then to Grand Haven High School. He entered the US Navy during WWII at the age of 17 and came back to graduate from GHHS with the class of 1947. He married the former Loretta Green in 1948. Jack and Loretta built their home in Grand Haven with the help of Loretta's father, Arthur Green. Mr. Hoebeke learned the trade of tool & die maker and became co-owner of Follen Tool & Die for 28 years. He also served as a volunteer fireman under his father, Chief Henry Hoebeke. He retired briefly when partners died and sold the business. He then came out of retirement to work at Die Excel for 8 years to then retire and work as a retail clerk at Ace Cook's Hardware, retiring for good when the store closed. Jack was a charter member of Trinity Reformed Church where he served as elder, deacon, Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school treasurer and taught Sunday school for many years. SURVIVORS Wife, Loretta; sons, John (Elena) Hoebeke of CA, Jay (Julia) Hoebeke of Fruitport, Jeffrey Hoebeke of WV; daughters, Janet (John) Fowler of Parma, LuAnn (Mark) Bethke of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Jennifer, Audrey, Angie, Allison, Abigail, Caitlin, Hayden, Amanda, Tyler, Jessie, Jacob, Tamara; step grandchildren, Jill 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Harriet Kieft & Evelyn Bailey, both of Grand Haven. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICE A family memorial service will be held in the summer. MEMORIAL: Trinity Reformed Church or Grand Haven Area Community Foundation.
