BONAR, MR. JACK, F. Grand Haven Jack F. Bonar, a resident of Grand Haven, died January 15, 2004. He was born to Charles and Leona Premo Bonar in Detroit, MI. He served his country in the US Army. Mr. Bonar married his first wife, Ruth L. Williamson in August 1952 in Bowling Green, OH. She preceded him in death in August of 1985 . He then married Donna J. Schippers on August 11, 1989 in White Lake Township, MI, and they lived there until returning to Grand Haven in 1993. Jack spent his earlier years working for automotive engineering companies in the Detroit area. He established a small company in 1954 producing plastic tooling fixtures and custom molded parts for automotive applications. In Jan. 1957 he joined Grand Haven Plastics on Marion St.. They produced custom molded fiberglass products. Mr. Bonar retired from Cincinnati Melacron in Ohio in 1977. This sales position involved much travel, however he felt fortunate to have his home base in Grand Haven. Jack lived 47 years in the Grand Haven area. He loved the water, and boating. Canoeing was his personal delight and he spent many quiet early mornings on Pettys Bayou in Spring Lake. He had numerous hobbies. One of his favorites was collecting antiquities and ancient Greek and Roman coins. SURVIVORS Wife, Donna; her children; Jack's son, Gregory LilianBonar; granddaughter Aimee, also a second grandchild is due in the summer. Jack made a number of good friends through the years and he will miss them all. VISITATION According to his wishes there will be no funeral services. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Ottawa Community or the Ottawa Shores Humane Society.
