Mrs. Iva E. Hodges, age 94, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014. She was born in Nunica, MI on August 13, 1919 to Raymond & Julia (Spencer) Longcore and married Lewis Hodges on August 27, 1937. Mrs. Hodges had been employed as an English Teacher at Mona Shores High School for 25 years until retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Michigan Education Association and enjoyed reading and teaching. But foremost was always her family. SURVIVORS Sons, Alfred (Gladys) Hodges of Trout Creek MI, Dr. Ralph (Karen) Hodges of Kalamazoo, David (Sharon) Hodges of NV; daughter, Patricia (Lester) Bell of Jenison; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, Howard Longcore of Grandville; sister, Margie (Marlin) Holton of Grand Haven; sister-in-law, Carolyn Longcore of Grant; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis. SERVICE Monday, January 13, 2014, 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Carlos Ramos officiating. Interment at Mona View Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice.
