Isabel K. Horsley

HORSLEY, MRS. ISABEL K. Widow of C. Lee Horsley Montague, MI Formerly of Muskegon Mrs. Isabel K. Horsley, age 98, died Saturday, March 5, 2005. She was born December 3, 1906 in Lacon, IL to William & Mabel Baker Koenneman and married C. Lee Horsley September 29, 1935. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2001. Isabel was a member of Central United Methodist Church and served on staff for 35 years, 10 years as Church Education Secretary, and 25 years, from 1960 to 1985 as Administrative Secretary. She spent a lifetime working and volunteering to help others well into her late 80's. She was a volunteer worker at Brookhaven Medical Care Facility, served as President of the Brookhaven Women's Auxiliary for 19 years and was actively involved in the annual ice cream social. Isabel also did volunteer work for the Muskegon County Cooperating Churches, the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and YMCA Camp Pendalouan where her husband was camp director for 30 years. She did the very best she could and left the outcome to God. SURVIVORS 2 daughters, Marilyn J. Nelson R. DeFord of Mesick, MI and Barbara A. Linton of Montague, MI.; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Al Hughes. MEMORIAL SERVICE Thursday, March 10, 2005, 1:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Randall R. Hansen officiating. VISITATION Thursday, at the Church, following the service.
