Mr. Irving Bud R. Hansen Jr., age 84, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014. He was born in Muskegon, MI on February 19, 1930 to Irving & Gladys (Dalghren) Hansen Sr. and married the former Barbara Joan DeGroot on May 5, 1950. Bud was a gifted tenor soloist. He was a member of the Cosmopolitan Male Chorus for several years, as well as singing in church choirs, weddings and various musical events in the West Michigan area. He was often accompanied by his wife Barbara, who was also a gifted musician. Mr. Hansen had been employed as a supervisor at Browne Morse Company and Clarke Floor Machine until his retirement. He was a member of First Congregational Church UCC. Irvings respect for his community and local Veterans would have him maintain the Veterans Memorial Park on the Causeway south of the Muskegon River. He will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Daughters, Kathleen Joan (Dick) Morrison of Twin Lake, Donna Marie Hansen RN of Muskegon; grandchildren, Brandy Zuder, Nicholas Morrison, Michael Anders (Trisha) Hansen; great granddaughter, Elsa Elisabeth Hansen; sister, Sandy (Doug) Wakefield of Seattle WA; brothers-in-law, Lee Hartman & Elmer Vanderwall; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara in August; son, Gregory John; sisters, Audrey Hartman & Beverly (Lynn) Cryderman. SERVICE Monday, November 24, 2014, 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service at First Congregational Church UCC on Jefferson St. with Rev. Timothy D. Vander Haar officiating. Interment at Laketon Township Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Arthritis Foundation.
