Irma J. Vanderwest

Miss Irma Jean Vanderwest, age 85, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019. She was born in Muskegon, MI on June 5, 1933 to Gerrit & Cornelia (Zuidema) Vanderwest and graduated from Muskegon High School in 1951. Miss Vanderwest had been employed as an Accounting Clerk for Anaconda Wire and Cable Co. for 30 years and then Town & Country Pharmacy and she finished out her career at Northshore Hardware. Irma enjoyed ceramics, knitting and going to Zephyr & Mohawk hockey games. She loved working in her flower gardens and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Brother, Sam (Paulette) Vanderwest of Muskegon; sister, Mary Lou Sandberg of Whitehall; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Vanderwest; nephews, Richard Vanderwest, Tom Vanderwest, Ron Vanderwest, Robert Vanderwest, David Vanderwest, Mark Vanderwest, Matt Vanderwest; nieces, Nancy Vanderwest, Amy Johnson, Lee Ann Archer & Paige Botts. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard, Melvin & Robert; sister, Wilma Brusky and nephew, Jim Vanderwest. SERVICE Saturday, March 2, 2019, 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel-Muskegon. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Wings of Mercy.
