STRAIT, MRS. IRENE FRANCES Village of Fruitport Mrs. Irene Frances Strait , age 84, died Sunday, March 27, 2005. Mrs. Strait was born on July 16, 1920 in Muskegon to Frank and Elizabeth Krehn Sellers and married Joe Strait, Jr. on January 11, 1941. Irene was Head Cook at Fruitport Public Schools for 27 years until retiring in 1983. An avid baker and cook, she also enjoyed fishing, crocheting, her flowers, volunteering at Shorehaven Mercy Living Center for many years where she was named Volunteer of the Year in 1985. She was a member of 1st Congregational Church of Fruitport. While active in these many areas, her family was always foremost. SURVIVORS 2 sons, Joseph Karen Strait of Grand Haven; Jeff Strait of Fruitport; 1 daughter, Vicki Bailey of Spring Lake; 5 grandchildren, Sean, Leisha, Troy, Traci, and Patrick; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a brother-in-law, Jack RoseStrait of Fruitport; a sister-in-law, Vonia Rennells of Sault Ste. Marie; son-in-law, Gaylord Bailey; special friends, John and Jan Moser of Grand Haven; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, Jr. in 1983, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. SERVICE Wednesday, March 30, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at 1st Congregational Church of Fruitport with Rev. Ron DePung & Rev. John Moser officiating. Interment at Fruitport Cemetery, Fruitport, MI. VISITATION Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Clock Chapel- Fruitport. MEMORIAL: 1st Congregational Church of Fruitport Memorial Fund or Hospice of North Ottawa. CLOCK - Fruitport
