Irene D. Reyes

Mrs. Irene D. Reyes, age 71, passed away early Wednesday, April 16, 2008. She was born on August 23, 1936 to Louie and Henrietta (Fernandez) Ledesma in Saginaw, MI and has lived in Muskegon most of her life. She was a member of St. Jeans Catholic Church. On February 11, 1959 she married Feliciano in Muskegon and he preceded her in death in 1991. She had worked for Lorin Industries for 13 years as a machine operator prior to her retirement in 1985. Hobbies included bingo, traveling, dancing and being part of the women's auxiliary group of VFW #1370. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Rosemary Ledesma of Hart, Olivia Reyes, Felix (Jody) Reyes, Jr., Edward (Tammy) Reyes and Carmen (Anthony) Craymer, all of Muskegon; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Louie Ledesma, Arthur Ledesma, Juan Ledesma, Rueben Ledesma, Adan (Linda) Ledesma; 4 sisters, Esther Ledesma, Merinda (Paul) Jones, Erlinda (Danny) Garcia, Christina (Chris) Burns, step-mother Cerilla (Lilly) Ledesma, special friends and cousin Jerry and Fran Dismuke, many nieces and nephews and special friends from bingo at Select Auditorium. Mrs. Reyes was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Edward Ledesma, Joe Ledesma, grandson, Feliciano Reyes III and granddaughter, Danielle Alviar. The MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 1:30 PM Friday, April 18, 2008, at St. Jeans Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Page as celebrant. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday (today) at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM this evening. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass, 12:30 - 1:30 PM Friday at the church. Burial will take place at Fruitport Cemetery.
