NORTON, MRS. IRENE Grand Haven, MI Mrs. Irene Norton, age 77, died Saturday, February 9, 2002. She was born in Muskegon, MI on November 3, 1924 to Sydney & Bessie Shellner Showers & married Miles LeRoy Norton on January 1, 1946 in Muskegon, MI. Mrs. Norton had attended Ferris State for 2 years & was a former member of Lakeside Baptist Church where she had been very active. She was attending Spring Lake Wesleyan Church & enjoyed plants, flowers & reading. SURVIVORS: 1 son, Miles Daniel Kathy Norton of Coopersville, MI; 1 daughter, Suzanne Lanoue of Grand Haven, MI; former son-in-law, David Lanoue of TX; former daughter-in-law, Connie R. Norton of Grand Haven, MI; 6 grandchildren, Scott Daniel Norton, Stacey Eric Rea, Danielle Jeremy Hopwood Lanoue, Amy Norton, Jason Schultz & Jessica Schultz; 3 sisters, Marion Welcome of Muskegon, MI, Ida Kodke of Belding, MI & Ila Smith of Big Rapids, MI; 3 brothers, Robert Rada Showers of FL, Nelson Bonnie Showers & Tom Showers, both of St. Johns, MI; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Miles in 1998. SERVICE: Tuesday, February 12, 2002, 11:00 AM at the Clock Chapel with Rev. David Horne officiating. Interment at Mona View Cemetery.
