Mrs. Irene Armstrong Baker, age 96, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011. She was born in Fremont, MI on November 10, 1914 to Gordon & Weltha (Parker) Armstrong and married Donald Baker on September 23, 1937. Mrs. Baker had been a Registered Nurse at Hackley Hospital, retiring after 20 years. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church and Martha Circle. Irene enjoyed volunteering at Hume Home, as well as, playing Bridge with friends and hunting and fishing with her husband. She will be dearly missed. SURVIVORS Son, Thomas (Pat) Baker of N. Muskegon; daughter, Jane Baker Barclay of Muskegon; granddaughters, Amanda Barclay of Muskegon, Suzanne Baker of WI, Laura (Jeff) Nielsen of CO; sister, Bonnie Eyrich of SC; and good friend, Sarah Larnard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 1996 and sister, Jean Maynard. SERVICE Saturday, February 12, 2011, 11:00 AM and visitation 1 hour prior to the service at Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Lynch officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice.
