Irene Anna Anderson

Irene Anna Anderson, 87, of Muskegon, passed away Monday, March 24, 2025.

Irene was born February 27, 1938, the daughter of Alek and Katerina Kushner. She married Harlan Anderson on March 1, 1969 and together they enjoyed 11 years of marriage until his death in 1980. Irene served as one of the secretaries for the Muskegon County Commission for over 20 years. She was a long time member of Forest Park Covenant Church. Irene was proud to give blood at the American Red Cross and did so often, having donated over 18 gallons over her many years of giving. Irene was passionate about her fitness and thoroughly enjoyed her time and many friendships forged while working out at Tanglewood Senior Fitness Center. She had a special place in her heart for her kitty-cats, most recently her cat Missy Lynn. She had an extraordinary green thumb and thoroughly enjoyed gardening in her younger years. Irene's love for nature also extended to watching, feeding and whistling to the song birds. Mostly, she loved her family and was devoted to their happiness. Irene was kind, caring, loving and loyal. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

SURVIVORS

Her two Sons Joe and Dave (Nicky) Anderson; beloved grandson David (Gia) Anderson; great-grandson Leo; brother-in-law Wes (Jean) Anderson; Nephew David (Marilyn) Anderson; Nieces Kirsten and Colleen Anderson; several other nieces and nephews; her cat, "Missy Lynn" and her extended family at Tangelwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother and sister.

SERVICES

Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11 AM at at Forest Park Covenant Church 3815 Henry Street. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service at the church. Light food and refreshments will be served directly after the service. There will then be an additional ceremony at Mona View Cemetery, 3335 Mona View Drive, around 1:30pm.
