Mr. Walter Lewis Hutson, age 89, of Norton Shores, passed away Monday, October 2, 2006 at Mercy General Health Partners. He was born March 3, 1917 in Mecosta County, MI to the late Fredrick and Jesse (Johnston) Hutson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mildred; his grandson, Fredrick, Jr.; and his brother, Fay Hutson. Surviving are his wife, Jacquelyn (McDonald) of nearly 46 years of marriage; children: Freddie (Mary) Hutson, Dale (Connie) Hutson, Nina (Keith) Miller, Linden "Butch" Hutson, Debra (Edward) VanNett, Raymond Eckheart, Robbin Hutson, and Terri (Jim) Weiss; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Dell, Wesley, and Cliffton; and 2 sisters: Marion Dean and Ida Mae Dempsey. Walter served our country in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from Continental Motors after 37 1/2 years of service. He loved the great outdoors, enjoyed hunting for deer, and planted and tended his garden every year. FUNERAL SERVICES for Walter will be held Thursday, October 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. with Pastor Dianne Doten Morrison officiating. VISITATION will be one hour before service (1 to 2). Interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be direct to Harbor Hospice. Arrangements by Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel.
