Hugh W. Russ, Sr.

Hugh W. Russ, Sr. age 78, passed away on June 7, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jayne A. Russ; a son, Hugh W. (Becky) Russ, Jr.; three step daughters, Pamela (Patrick) Ullmer, Melanie (Charles) DeKryger, Cheryl Kieft and fiancee Mike Kozik,; a stepson, Gregory (Patricia) Freeland; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert L. (Dorothy) Russ, and a sister, Doris (Travis) Thomas. Hugh was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Karen L. Eden; four brothers, Jack, Richard, Billy and Gordon and a sister, Vivian. Hugh was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War, and was a volunteer fireman in Texas before moving to Michigan. He retired from AmeriGas and enjoyed employment at CVC while volunteering his time at the Veterans Home in Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be held at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Beetham officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the VFW Muskegon County Council following the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
