Hubert Schmidt

Mr. Hubert W. Schmidt, age 86, passed away early Saturday, May 5, 2007. He was born on October 18, 1920 to Oscar and Alberta (Radek) Schmidt in Grand Rapids and has lived in Muskegon since boyhood. Mr. Schmidt worked with Teledyne Continental Motors from 1941 to 1980 with time out to serve his country in the U. S. Navy during W.W.II. On May 17, 1962 he married Llowana (Lou) Brunk, who preceded him in death on December 2, 1999. He is survived by his brother, Albert Schmidt of Norton Shores, nieces, Patricia Verbrugg of Grand Rapids and Judy Schmidt of Idaho; and nephew, A. James Schmidt of Muskegon, along with three step-children, Larry (Diana) Walburn of Grand Haven, Clark Etterman of Lake City, MI and Cheri Etterman of Oakland, CA. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Chapel of the Chimes in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice.
