Hradsky, Jon "Jack" Iii

Mr. Jon "Jack" Hradsky, III, age 63, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, January 14, 2007 in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born June 25, 1943 in Muskegon to John II and M. Evelyn (Bergstrom) Hradsky and had been a lifelong resident. Jack attended Muskegon High School and also Iowa State University, where he studied Aeronautical Engineering. He had been the owner/operator of Hradsky, Inc. since 1975, and part-owner and President of Pleasure Island Water Park, where he designed and created many of the slides. Jack loved to travel, and while traveling in India spoke as a representative for the Rotarians. He served on the Board of Directors of the West Michigan Tourist Association from 1993-1999, and also served on the Governor's Commission on Tourism. In 1992, he was presented with the Muskegon County "2000 Award" for outstanding tourism. Jack served in the U.S. Army Special Forces as a Green Beret. He was proudest of seeing his children pursue their advanced educations. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. On August 6, 1982, he married the former JoAnn Merano in Holland, MI. He was a wonderful husband and father and had a zest for life. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his mother, M. Evelyn Hradsky. SURVIVORS His wife, JoAnn; 3 children, Kelly Hradsky of Chicago, IL, Jon Hradsky IV of Ann Arbor, MI, Brittani Hradsky of Norton Shores; father, John Hradsky II of Muskegon; brother, Jim (Samira) Hradsky of Paris, France; several nieces and nephews. SERVICES A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2007 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church - Marian Chapel with the Rev. Fr. Len Sudlik presiding.
