Howard Horton

Mr. Howard "Howie" Vernon Horton, age 53, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on March 2, 1964 to Christian & Rose Ann (Stuberg) Horton and attended Fruitport High School where he played football and was on the swim team. A bright and intelligent man, he worked for Workman Communications for many years pulling cable for fiber optics and doing construction. Howie was a generous and sensitive soul who really loved his mother. He enjoyed playing golf, being outdoors and watching movies of all kinds. Howie cherished spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews often getting a hotel room on the week-ends so they could go swimming in the pool. He was a real story teller and even believed some of the stories he made up. Very generous with his time and money, Howie would do everything he could to help a friend in need. Even though he battled adversities throughout his life, Howie was a good man to the core. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
