Herman Ray Kilcrease

Kilcrease, Herman "Ray" age 84, passed away at home Sunday, May 29th, 2022 surrounded by his wife and children after a very brief courageous battle with cancer. Ray was born on April 11, 1938 to Rowan and Kathrine Kilcrease, in Geneva Al. Ray served in the United States Air Force from July 1956 to July 1960. Ray married the former Eleanor Ockenhouse of PA. Together, they shared 63 years of marriage full of love. Ray was a very AVID fisherman and hunter. His greatest pleasure was fishing and hunting with his father, son's and grandchildren. Ray was quite the handyman and enjoyed working and tinkering on projects for his kids. He left his print in each one of his children's homes. We could always count on Dad to be involved with whatever project we needed help with. Ray had unconditional love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ray will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Kilcrease; 6 children, Kathy Woodring, Debora (John) Tjapkes, Susan (Thomas) Dexter, Jonathan (Donna) Kilcrease, Rhonda (Steve) Grenell, Jeffery Kilcrease, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rowan and Katherine Kilcrease, Brother William (Bill) Kilcrease and Sister Sarah (Carol) Balkema. There will be a private celebration in honor of Ray's life honoring his military service at the VFW.
