Herbert J. Czerwon

Mr. Herbert J. Czerwon, age 76, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on July 7, 1941 to Herbert & Theresa (Lorenz) Czerwon and married the former Kristi Stafford on August 21, 1998. Mr. Czerwon had been employed as a probation officer for the State of Michigan for over 31 years, as well as, an adjunct professor of Psychology at Baker College and Muskegon Community College. Herbert was a life long member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Old Newsies and Norwegian Elkhound Moose Dog Group. He enjoyed visiting assisted living facilities with his therapy & show dog, Molly Rose. As well as, teaching, gardening, woodworking, backyard parties, writing his book and getting into trouble with his grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thank you to his family doctor, Dr. Herbert Miller and his nurse, Rose and Spectrum Hospice for their wonderful care. SURVIVORS Wife, Kristi; son, Stephen (Jana) Czerwon; daughters, Jennifer Czerwon, Amanda (Ryan) Gailey, Heidi Czerwon; grandchildren, Cade & Bode Gailey; sister, Carol (John) Rothwell; his faithful companion and dog, Bear. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond Czerwon. FUNERAL MASS Friday, August 11, 2017, 1:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Phillip Sliwinski officiating. Interment in Norton Cemetery.
